A weekend of testing streaming apps

I set aside a whole weekend to test streaming services so nobody else has to. My old cable package was eating a big chunk of my budget every month, and honestly half the channels I never touched.

The short version: the standalone apps add up fast, and juggling five different logins got old by Sunday afternoon. One wanted extra for sports, another locked the good films behind a higher tier, and a third kept buffering every time the weather turned. The option that finally stuck was a iptv subscribe — one place with thousands of live channels and a deep on-demand movie library, streaming in crisp 4K without renting a single box or signing a two-year contract.

What surprised me was how much local content was in there too: regional sports, a couple of international channels my parents watch, and news feeds I thought I would have to chase across separate apps. Setup took about ten minutes on the living-room TV and another five on the tablet.

If you are part-way through your own comparison, my one real tip is to actually watch something you care about on each service before you decide. Menus look great in a demo; playback under a real connection is what matters. I am keeping notes here as I go for anyone doing the same homework.
